UPS/IPA REACH GRIEVANCE SETTLEMENT ON MENLO DISPUTE

Today Association representatives are announcing the settlement of the
grievance filed in the Menlo case. Each crewmember on the property with
as little as one hour of active service between December 19, 2005 and
July 13, 2006 will receive a one time bonus payment of $3,300. This
payment will be made no later than July 27, 2006. This sum amounts to
just over $9 million dollars paid to IPA crewmembers from UPS.

Guess you just found out what a contract violation is worth to you. Seems like the precedent has been set and UPS can violate any portion of your contract for the measly sum of $9 million (which is measly to UPS). If the same people are negotiating your new contract that negotiated this, then you guys are screwed.

That is precisely why this TA will be voted down. We will be put in time-out for another unspecified amount of time, and then allowed to resume negotiations with brand new elected officials.

There is very little, if any chance of a strike, the paychecks are still rolling in on time, and there is no need to be in a hurry for a lousy contract. Personally, I'll wait as long as it takes to vote in a TA worth voting for.

curious just who you fly for? What makes you think that they can violate any portion for 9 million? You are talking about a 2 million dollar violation. You think that they can make a 25 million dollar payroll error and just pay 9 million?

Me thinks cynical is just another flaimer who couldn't get on flightinfo because he can't afford the 10 bones. Every post reflects his screen name - with a touch of inflammatory subtones.

I didn't have to pay ten bucks, maybe that is new? Hell, I can lend the boy some money if he needs it <G>

Nothing wrong with being cynical, I am a pro at it, you just have to stay open to all sides at the same time. I am wondering where he gets the gravitas to cast some of his judgements on the rest of us. SOmehow I picture him more as the flight instructor dressing up like a "real pilot" and throwing the model plane in his avatar, then I do an old greybeard in the left seat of a heavy jet. I must be getting mellow with my own age :o

Looks like we all have some reading to do. So far, I am not impressed:cool:
