UPS 2nd year F/Os will make $200,000 by end of proposed T/A!!!!!

$148/hr x 96 hours a bid x 13 = 184,704

Sick pay = $10,508 or $195,212

A couple of JAs here and there, and boom...there's your 200k.

Browntail...

You're not being realistic. But now at least I know who you are.

Sick pay should not be considered part of your income.
Sick pay is for Full trip loss for trips missed while recovering from Illness.

Getting a sick pay by back only encourages Pilots to fly while they are sick........thus infecting others and making them sick.........only for them to fly sick and continue to infect others.

We have a similiar sick leave buy back at FedEx, although it is not as lucrative as yours sounds. FedEx pilots must have a full sick bank........686 hours before the 72 hours per year can be "bought back"

Yes it can increase one's W-2...........but generally a bad idea......

Thanks Beave, I wondered how he came up with 96 hours and $200Gs.

Like buying a house...

Lil J-
There's more to this TA than the money. UPS has more to offer us, they want us settled for the big postal contract next year and the 100th anniversary, etc. My bet is that they'll be more forthcoming if we vote this down. I don't know if you fly domestic or int'l, but we all know the growth is on the int'l side. For instance, take a look at the postings on the B+G about what a "crossing" is. We fly many legs which won't qualify as a crossing as defined in the TA, but are long flights indeed and certainly the intent should be to include them all. (CGN-DXB comes to mind). Any north to south flying or vice versa would be exempt as well. I feel we need to clarify some things with this TA. UPS wants us settled, I just think we can get a better deal if we vote it down. At least you get a vote, I'm still on probation. Think about buying a house...
