We are dropping the ball on this one. We should all be checking in AT SHOWTIME in AOC, then, per the FOM, check required FCIF's before each duty period, next stop is Corp Travel to get the ticket, then proceed to the terminal bus(it just left? I guess I'll catch the next one in 20 minutes.). Once at the terminal, get in line to check your bag to destination. Now through security....etc. Nothing out of bounds, just following the rules.


4a2b or not 4a2b, that is the question. WE are the answer.

We still can't keep guys from flying DP's, ANC trip 18, 26 Feb 10. How are we going to get guys to go to ops to check in?

We all need to walk around with our hats on with one exception. We should tape a telescoping antennae on the side, extend it as far as it will go and then hang a small mirror at the end. The idea being that we can see ourselves as we walk around at work. Maybe then we will realize that we are as much the problem as the company we point the finger at.

True, but he is exactly right. Concerning this issue we are only required to do what is in the contract. If NW or some other ALPA carriers wanted to make a collective point, there would be quite a bit more "unity" within the crew force. History validates that point. Unfortunately, "we" will probably never get anywhere as unified as we should. Pretty sad. Thank goodness we work for a stable company with a decent contract....comparatively speaking that is. Cant wait till the next round of negotiations! :rolleyes:

Just pointing out the futility of doing anything when we have these independent contractors floating around flying disputed pairings repeatedly. And people still eat with them.

Nothing will change for YEARS around Memphis until these Non- Members / Independent Contractors / aka SCABS retire or get fired. They will continue to jump at the opportunity for a quick buck at our expense.

It stinks on the -11 when you're stuck with one of these cheapskate - scabs, but if I'm lucky there's an rfo to drink with.

Check in on-time, not a minute earlier, that's what I'm paid to do. You're a sucker if you check in early as management is laughing at you!

I am with you concerning the futility! But, individually, we should be able to look at our self in the mirror; whatever choice we make. Then again, that would require some sort of conscience and an understanding of the consequences of "our" actions!

And I should add that regardless of the futility, ya gotta stick with your beliefs and gut feelings. That way you can be sure that you arent part of, or contributing to the problem.

I agree with you it just really p!$$E$ me off when there is nothing but dp's in open time and the rest of us do what is right and leave them alone. Then the same dudes jump on them month after month and we all still go out to dinner with them on layovers...They are literally taking food out of the mouths of our children and forcing us to remain in 4a2b longer. This guy in ANC has done this multiple times now.

FR8Hauler: you do not have to go out to dinner with these DP flyers - I don't and hope others don't either. I treat them like non-members. Hope others do to.

I agree with you FR8. Mostly impossible to make those types see the bigger picture or, to at least make them have a little guilt.....or whatever word is applicable.
