UPS profit triples, CEO: recession looks over

That doesn't mean that we aren't overstaffed by about 300 union pilots. We've parked a lot of airplanes achieve that profit that you are referring to.

The question of what happens to the managers also looms. They could face some unexpected bad news.

UPS also announced that it will reinstate executive compensation plans, after freezing management salaries early last year.....NICE, glad to see my RDG savings going to these Richard Heads.

The balloon has been sent up...they will not furlough, and may not fecalcan 65-85 managers, but as little as 40. But managers are history, and no line guys will go...they want their money...money that dwarfs the pathetic contributions of the managers. Get your resume tuned up ANCSDF...there are some Chinese carriers hiring underqualified types.

Managing a surplus of the IPA pilots has to happen too. The MOU is one strategy and I hope it works, but the fact of the matter is that if UPS can realize more money by furloughing, a furlough will have to happen.
Lets all hope for the best that nobody loses their job. But vilifying the very managers that make this place so profitable is probably not the best thing to do right now. As they say, the proof is in the pudding and mangers have been pulling their weight around here. Have you guys?
