FDX - MEM Hub Turn Meeting....1/14/10
Mentioned in another thread.....
MEM Hub Turn Meeting last night AND today @ noon.
Anyone happen to attend last night?
Any suggested questions that need to be raised/topics discussed at the follow-up today at noon?
Please post questions here and maybe someone will ask them today (or post answers from last night)
Question I have is......
Any numbers from peak posted/published by the company yet? specifically how many service failures/canceled flights due to "overmanning"?
...and who (if anyone) at the union is tracking those numbers independently?

Service Failures? Weren't you revised last month?
Topics:
Contact 2010
1. Vacation - no need to modify
2. PBS is EVIL (my word)-it would harm vacation (as we know it), per the MEC
3. Retirement - Age 60
4. See SeeDub's post under Health Care re: Cadillac Plan Q's
5. LOSA maybe (similar to Enders-Type Study)
6. FOQA (downloaded of Flight Data), ALPA Gatekeeper-maybe Spring
7. ASAP -- issues -- probably will not see it soon
Talked about safety, Trip Pairings (how 4a2b has impacted negatively)
SIG is still scrubbing (not news, but someone was unaware?)
Pretty vanilla

Other than PBS and SIG, I have no idea what the heck you just said.

I will start slow...
1. FDX contact is amendable this year.
Discussion of "issues" affecting pilots from Age 60 as the "normal" retirement, changing/modifying the vacation section of the contact, work rules, etc.
enlightenment from last night:
If the FDX negotiator's ask for [insert scheduling request], then it is bad. If FDX ALPA makes a scheduling request and FDX agrees to it, it must be really bad. A little tongue-in-cheek....
2. The National Healthcare issue and whether FDX's healthcare falls under the "Cadillac Plan". In another thread, SeeDub reiterated the statements from the MEC and there is also a Message Line.
3. Now the "other stuff" goes towards safety, data collection, etc. Other airlines have an ASAP in place, submitted to a LOSA review, and utilizes the FOQA (sp) dissemination of aircraft data.
ASAP - it is very similar in design to NASA reports, but between the pilots + FDX (and in no way eliminates the need for filing a NASA report). Make a mistake, admit to it, no harm/no foul. Industry wide it is a good system, utilizing it at FDX, well, suffice it to say, cannot figure out how to make it work effectively.
LOSA - needs about 500 legs to adequately review / compile / analyze information. Based in TX, very similar to another Enders. This time, ALPA should have access to the data.
FOQA - a download of flightdata information. Company does it now (remember the FCIF about the speeding+unstable crew). At this time there isn't an "official" program in place. Both sides would like to see something.
And PBS is EVIL!
Hope this clarifies the original "short-hand."
