Re-Stated:
ATLANTA (AP) -- The chairman and chief executive officer of UPS Inc., Scott Davis, received total compensation valued at $5.5 million last year, a 6.2 percent increase from 2008, according to a regulatory filing Monday.
An analysis of the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission shows Davis, 58, received a salary of $1 million.
He did not receive a bonus, per se, though his salary included a bonus equal to one-half of one month's pay. He also received a performance-based bonus of $130,523 and other compensation of $31,345.
There are no above-market or preferential earnings in the UPS deferred compensation plan.
Davis also received stock and option awards the company valued at $4,327,948 on the days they were granted.
The total compensation of $5,489,816 in 2009 compares with the $5,168,664 he received in 2008.
Glad to see 54 families will be subsidizing this, at least on paper. Furloughs usually cost more in reality than they do on paper using "a perfect world scenario".
Disgusted,
FF

You know why S.D and the Board got this kind of pay raise? Because they could!! You know who is going to do anything about it? No one.
This place makes money NO MATTER who is in charge! The infrastructure cost alone in staggering here. What business owner is going to get into a Huge initial cost start up business only to earn small rates of return. Ask DHL how it worked out when they tried to get in the US Market. How much did they spend?
Everyone shakes their head when they see greedy corporate exec take huge perks (even when a company is losing money, legacy carriers come to mind)! Happens all the time I guess. The reason they do, is that NO ONE is going to stop them. Just take a look at how Wall Street has been ****ing all over the tax payers lately.
Just sayin
