Which brings me back to my paragraph again:

Next contract we will pay them for the privledge, as long we can continue to make up the trips at stright time.
I used to look forward to getting sub for the extra R days on either side of my training and going home.

Huh?? You're saying you can't get a trip with CIC make-up, if you want? I find that hard to believe.
That's exactly what I'm saying. I left 6hrs on the table last recurrent. I bid every trip that didn't conflict with the others on my schedule. I only got one of them and it was a lone departure. Not good for a commuter to come in for a one day trip. Give me back trip guarantee for conflict and I'll be happy. This is nothing more than a productivity gain for the company.

Here's how my recurrent bid worked out...

I bid for recurrent training to conflict with a 70+ CH trip. This line was published with 20 days off. I did protect min days off but don't see how that mattered with the 20 off on the line. The big trip was knocked out by recurrent. No sub. So, apparently the nuke option is alive for both the contiguous r-line and a regular line.

Sounds like the love/hate relationship with our current system may be related to line configuration. That is, works out well for the long trip holders --- not so well for short/6ch type trips. All I know is that now they have a 70+ hour trip to fill. Granted, I will be bidding CIA during the view/add to protect the paycheck. As a fairly junior guy, this is actually helping me control my schedule. I like it but you have to be real careful before you pull the trigger.

Cheers
