FDX - recurrent bid trip conflict

Hi Folks,

Quick question --- if I receive a recurrent training bid award to conflict with a long trip, are the remaining days of the trip footprint (not in conflict with training) automatically put into substitution? Or, will the trip simply drop as CIC for view/add eligibility?

CBA says it should drop but then talks about this situation in the sub section.

Thanks for your time.

Old contract Sub. New contract goes into makeup bank, you may get to cherry pick some trips before the VTO guys during the conflict/add window. I for one am happy we gave the company this productivity increase for free.

Next contract we will pay them for the privledge, as long we can continue to make up the trips at stright time.

Also, be aware that no trips will be dropped unless you protect min days off, and you are already scheduled to work max days.
Assuming you qualify to have a trip dropped for training, they will drop the lower paying trip before a higher paying one.
Be prepared for training on day off.

You know, it's interesting...Everyone has their own take on the "improvements" of the last contract. Trip Rig, Training, CIC makeup, etc. And, I understand what you're saying about the old contract in regards to training conflicts.

But, in all my years at FDX, I can count on less than 1 hand the number of times that CRS honored my training request and conflicted with a trip that I got paid for, under the old system. The overwhelming majority of the time, they just put the training in the middle of my days off, where they wanted.

I actually prefer the new contract system. Bid for training by seniority. I have much more control of my schedule...Which is quality of life.

Hey, if you're not whining you don't belong here.

I have looked at my old schedules and got conflicted everytime I was on reserve and at least two other times, hard to tell. But if you preserved max days off they conflicted frequently as I recall. Could be wrong, but my schedules don't think so.

But there is no denying this allows them to do more with less and I count that as QOL minus, to each his own.

Thanks Lag. Thanks Cvill. We'll see what happens. My line has 20 days off but I protected anyway --- may not matter. I have tried the r-line nuclear option and it worked well for me --- maybe I shoulda pulled that play again. As for the process, seems like some like it, some hate it. So far it's worked okay for me but we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Thanks again --- b.

I got plenty of trips in conflict on the old contract. Now I just get screwed. When you're junior in this new system most of the trips are gone when it gets to the 80%ers.

Huh?? You're saying you can't get a trip with CIC make-up, if you want? I find that hard to believe.

I agree ... I'm about 75-80% and CIC has worked well for me. I rather look forward to conflicting my R days with my training so that I can bid a CIC trip that my seniority wouldn't otherwise allow me to hold. It's a great deal!
