Default FDX - More Memphis honors

Forbes most miserable cities ...

Top 20 America's Most Miserable Cities 2010 | EpidemicFun.com

Memphis, which came in third thanks to the second-worst rate of violent crime in the U.S. and an alarming rate of convicted public officials.

Actually I would vote Mempho #1 but I digress. For what it's worth Mempho was #2 last yr and is now #3.. So does that mean we are getting better?.

So, does that mean things would be better if the corrupt officials weren't getting convicted? What kind of measurement is that?

All else being equal, I would rather the corrupt officials get convicted than not (as in Chicago or New Orleans).

Well, that's kind of like trying to polish a turd, isn't it?

You can find anything on the internet.

You guys stop trying to make yourselves feel better for spending more time away from your kids. Lots of worst out there (guess I could spend another 10 seconds and find your city is the worst at something)

Interestingly, none of the above links you post actually say anything positive about Memphis.

The Money Magazine one only allows you to "compare " Memphis to one of their top places to live.

There are tradeoffs with everything, I lived on the planet for five years. It certainly had its advantages with regard to the job. For ME that was about it. Others certainly enjoy it! We're all different.

I liken it to that "dysfunctional relationship", you don't realize how bad it really is, until you get away from it.

Left the planet this past summer after 6 years. It was great while the kids are growing, however we set a goal to only live there 5 years(took a year to sell). I could not wait to LEAVE!! The only nice thing to say about Memphis is there are some nice people around, however the constant crime is too much for me. Yes Gtown, and Cville have crime too!!

aircum,

Are you living in a land without crime now? Let me hear about it?

Yeah, unless there's literally zero crime where you are, I can't see why you'd leave a city ranked in the top five for violent crime for the last few years. Mind-boggling, really.

I love these threads. Here, someone else tell me how awesome Memphis is, then get upset when I tell you I don't really care for it.
