It still looks like some MEM folks just can't help themselves.

Trip 179 01AUG06, his calendar is blocked imagine that
Trip 431 01AUG06, his calendar also blocked

Thank You to those that are such great helpers.

Everybody needs to get ahold of their friends/ and those they fly with (especially those flying w/ contract non-helpers) and enlighten them.

I was in flight ops today during the daytime hub turn ... many LCA/SCA's there in uniform flying line trips. I wonder why they are so short of crew members? Very unusual ... :D

My FO today was a Standards Captain...Maybe the word is getting out!!

Mood in Memphis

I haven't spent much time around Memphis and the last time I was there guys were lined up 4 deep at the desk to "help the company out" after the ice storm. The last 3 days seemed very different. Both of my Captains talked about not doing extra flying. The schedules people sounded desperate and the pilots said they were getting called all the time. Rumor:We've had to park jets because of lack of crews and it made an immediate impact at the negotiating table.

Blocked Calendars

If their calendar is blocked so are their landings in my plane.

Now THAT's a good idea.

But what if he's the captain?

They called me today begging. He (the scheduler) did not sound happy at all. It is working. We park jets and we will get results.

Capt and FO both with closed calendars. Imagine that! Capt has line 134, week on/week off MIA, the FO had DC10 SO line 9009 - so, just activated - trip given off reserve or requested in VSecondary line or taken in DFT?

XTRA prg 969, Capt on reserve, FO with closed calendar, but has line 709, a STN line with a prg 878 startrng on 8/5.
