Yet another FedEx interview question

Hello all...

I've been hearing different things about the internal recs needed to get an interview at Fed. Do you have to have actually flown with the guys who rec you or take you CP/ACPs or will it suffice that they know you really well but never flew with you?

Also any word on if hiring will pick up again. According to this website it has slowed to 20 a month. I heard that was to empty down the pool and then it would pick up again...any insight??

Thanks

All,

I'm a moron...disregard the first half of my post (about internal recs). However, if anyone knows anything about hiring in the next 6-8 months I would appreciate that insight...

Of course, it would be 'best' if you had actually flown with the recommendor. But, any glowing recommendation from someone on management's 'A' list will go a long way. Use what you got.

Availibily date

Does anyone know how far out from your availability the date company will interview/hire you. For example if I'm not actually available for another 6 mos will they interview/hire me since I'lll have to sit in the pool anyway??

Not sure if this answwers your question, but I had a friend in for a meet/greet in Apr05 before he shipped off to Iraq. Company asked him to let him know when he was available upon returning from Iraq. He returned in Sept05, let FedEx know he was available on 01Oct05, got a call late Oct, interviewed right after Turkey Day, hired in the late January. HTH
