FDX - DH Ticket reservation question
If an Aug trip has a front end First class DH on it (trip not assigned yet since bid hasn't closed) is a FC seat actually reserved for that trip right now?
I checked w Corp Travel and they said that scheduled DH is sold out in FC now. If you get assigned that trip this week to fly it as scheduled, will they have FC seat or try to book it and find that only coach is available for the scheduled DH?
It sounds like from travel that if the DH qualifies for FC, before the trip is assigned from the monthly bid, that they only provide an accepted fare for that DHs class of service. Once names are assigned, they try to book it at the highest class allowed and available. So in this case, there really isn't FC available and you will be stuck in coach for the 8+ hour DH.
Is that correct? Thanks.

I've had this happen to me. First wasn't available on a scheduled D/H and Corp. Travel booked me in coach and put me on a wait list for first. I called the airline myself and the gal was nice enough to check the status of everyone in the first class cabin and she told me my chances of getting first were very low. I ended up deviating and taking another flight. The flight was more $ but I had a little bank to work with.

I've also done what Tuck did, book a ticket on the same flight in First, then when corporate travel couldn't get the ticket two weeks later, wrote my manager, who fixed it so I didn't have to deviate. Sometimes, management really can help.
