For comparison, at the mins for 8-4 week months and 4-5 week months Yr 2 pay si SO 67.3k NB FO 101.2 WB FO 123.5 And, as bad as training pay\first year pay seems to us. It is better than almost every other airline out there. And the ones we pay less than, well, the pay curve accelerates in our favor quickly. Could be better, but it could be a lot worse as well. Raising the salary rates will bump first year pay up and make the pain a bit more short lived. Providing incentive for a newhire to bid HKG is the companies problem, not ours. |
Natman,
Yes, a newhire has to stay on this planet. Either stateside or HKG (or ANC) answers your question. Someone who's hired has to specifically choose to be domiciled in HKG or ANC. There are no involuntary assignments outside the CONUS for FedEx. Doesn't mean that FedEx isn't going to call you up and say we are hiring for positions in HKG, can we put you down for a class date or do you want to wait for Memphis? |

The short of it is we don't know what the company will offer you. But I think it's safe to say they won't hold it against you if you choose to wait for a MEM opening. They would like to send folks that want to stay longer than the minimum time. |
Rumor mill ... says we have greater than 900 folks that are currently eligible to retire (age 60 -or- >25 years). There could be a mass exodus if contract negotiations get ugly?

I'm curious... how many of you poolies would pass on HK if offered today and wait for an undefined Memphis 727S/O gig? Best of luck to you for whatever FX has in store. Looking forward to seeing you all here. It was worth the wait.

It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about training pay. We're sitting here, and we're supposed to be a major airline, and we're talking about training pay. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about training pay, not the line, not the line, not the line, but we're talking about training pay. Not the line that we go out there and die for and fly every trip as if it's our last but we're talking about training pay. How silly is that?
Now I know that we're supposed to lead by example and all that but I'm not shoving that aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important, I honestly do but we're talking about training pay. We're talking about training pay man. We're talking about training pay. We're talking about training pay. We're not talking about the line. We're talking about training pay. When you come to the aoc, and you see me fly, you've seen me fly right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about training pay right now. |

Hi,
Sorry I don't mean to get off topic, but has their been people hired at fedex w/out the tb pic? For example, say if the applicant meets the tt req. but lags the tb pic. Thanks... ****************** Typical qualifications for consideration as a FedEx pilot.
