Default UPS fall hiring update

UPS HR wants all pilot applicants to know that you must reapply using their new online app system.

As of July 31st, a new system is in place, requiring everyone who submitted an app before this date to reapply.

Estimating hiring 300 pilots between now and the end of 2007. Interviewing 3-5 pilots per day 5X per week. Interviews right now have been scheduled out for the next month. Interviewees after that will be ones that have apps in with the new system.

Upcoming scheduled class dates:
  • Aug 30: 7 727 SO
  • Sept 12: 9 757 FO (mix of SDF, MIA, and ONT domiciles)
  • Oct 10: 4 DC8 SO; 4 757 FO MIA
Depending on how the latest system bid shakes out, new-hires could be going into the new MD11 ANC domicile in the near future.

Thanks for always keeping us well informed. Any insight on the plight of the UPS poolies out there. They keep interviewing folks and placing them in class, while the poolies drown. I hope they will add a token poolie per class, for the fun of it.

Typical UPS. Can anyone one answer me this. If UPS is hiring 8 to 10 pilots a month, how does this equate to 150 hires by the end of the year? We have 5 months to go!

They tell you what they think you want to hear. Time to Vote NO and make UPS hire to fill the MD11 slots. Then we may reach 75 by the end of the year. UPS is Full of it again.

Well gosh, that only leaves November and December to hire the other 130 of the 150 they proclaimed they were hiring before year end. It seems the promise and reality have diverged.
At this rate we will have more retire than hired this year.

Anyone know if UPS has notified the new hires that will fill the classes in Aug, Sep, & Oct?

Has anyone recently been given a class date immediately after their interview or does everyone take a swim in the pool for at least a minimum amount of time?

Default New Application System...

FD,

Thanks for the information. I went into the website yesterday (Aug 7), and submited the initial application to include my SSN.
I don't know if they are looking closer at the applications, but when I wrote my SSN, it recognized that I was a former UPS employee, and it said that it will take about 7 days to gather all the information.
Hopefully this is a good thing.

Waiting for the phone call for an interview.
As soon as I can update the additional information I'll let you know.
Anybody with better information please jump in...

Cheers and Good Luck to all.

DQ

I didn't see if it recognized my SSN. Did it pop a different screen or anything?

Default Former UPS Employee

"Pending Approval

Thank you for your renewed interest in opportunities with UPS. Our records indicate you are a former employee of UPS. As a former employee it is necessary for your work history to be reviewed in order to continue. We encourage you to check back with us by visiting the ‘My Job Inquiries’ link located at www.upsjobs.com. Please keep in mind that it may take up to 7 business days for your prior employment history to be reviewed."

This is what it said after hiting "select" from the first page.

Go back to the website and give it a try. BTW I had my former employee number in my resume, but the only thing they asked was my SSN.

Cheers,
DQ
