more questions
Do you do a lot of night flying on the MD-80?
How much advance notice do you get for the next flight?
Does the company provide good hotels?
Is the 16 on / 14 off schedule consistently honored? I mean, I guess people can volunteer to work days off, but do they force you to do that?

A good deal of flying is through the night. then again, there are sequences that are day time operations too.
Could be as short as, “How soon can you get to the airport?”. Rest is not interrupted to advise of an upcoming trip. Never any pressure to make it a rush job leading to unsafe situations. No coercion, no threats, safety first!
Yes. Holiday Inn... Drury Inn... Hampton Inn and Suites. Hotel points are yours.
Yes
Volenteery... Yes.
Force you... No.

I am new to APC but have been following the forums for quite a while.
I am just wondering how the schedules are done with the 13 bid periods/pay periods? One paycheck per pay period or two?
Is there any other way besides selling a day off to make a little extra $$? Loading/unloading pay?
I am looking into another company flying DC9. Just wondering what thoughts are of flying MD-80 vs DC9? I'm completely aware of the obvious differences of the two airframes, but would one set me up better for a future job with the majors?
Anybody currently flying for Everts care to share how the company treats the pilots?
Thanks in advance for the response!

Thank you and I understand that. I have previous experience in 121 ops with EFIS and FMS/FMC equipped aircraft. But I don't have any 121 PIC or large turbine PIC. This type of flying is very intriguing to me and would like to get into it. But I also want to make sure that I fly something that will competitive for any future jobs I may want.

Do you think that a future employer cares a whit if you've been flying an MD-80 or a 737 or an airbus? Do you think it would give you an advantage to have widebody experience vs. narrowbody?
Not a bit.
PIC 121 experience will benefit you, as well PIC turbine in general.
Nobody's going to care much what it was that you've flown.

All good questions... However submit a CV... get the invite for the “SKYPE” Interview. Pose your questions then... for the matter of accuracy.

So, is Everts hiring DEC for the MD-80 starting at year five pay? Who does the simulator portion of training in house or out? How about getting enough rest on overnights away from base? What about future growth plans?

Yes... depending on experience.
One of the questions that one can address during the “SKYPE” interview.
In-house.
NEVER less than legal rest.
Slow and methodical to ensure the aircraft and crews added match the market demands. They’ve never furloughed. That’s because their decisions are not based on egos... but rather than the lasting effect to the employees, and their families. You can’t say that about many operators out their.
