Just last month, convinently right after the announced TA, UPS and J. Barnes said they are going to hire 150 new pilots by the end of the year. Kind of gets everyone excited.

We'll the truth hurts. It looks like have hired 15 since that annoucement. And 6 of those were management! And they are on the record of hiring 24 more by November. So how the fluke does this add up 150?

This is what happens when you have a TA with huge productivity gains and all 40% of the MD-11 Captains eventually going backwards.

This doesn't really **** me off as much as the blatent lies from our management. They know full and well we will not hire 150 new hires by Dec. 31. This is how UPS and their cronies work.

I'm not surprised a bit but then again my NO vote has been in since the 1st. :D

I felt this way too, until someone pointed out they may be using a Chinese calendar of unknown year. So really, this year could be any year. Pretty simple.
Don't forget the up side, your frozen Turkey certificate should be in the mail in just a few months. Enjoy!

Perhaps "Geoffrey" will return and let us know when the "hiring taps are going to be turned on full blast" and things "will be getting crazy".

You are so full of ****. UPS is having classes starting on 8/30 and 9/15. Each class will have 15+. They will hire 150 by the end of the year.

I take it math wasn't your strongest subject.

Just one other question. Can you please tell us how many retirements are going to take place over the last six months of this year and during 2007?

They are going to end up just replacing the retirees. Now who's full of it?

Usually agree with you Geoffrey, but didn't they already say that the 8/30 class would have 7, and the 9/15 class would have 9? Granted, they may bump those up after the bid closes.

Well, just don't believe anything the company says and that way you will never be disappointed.
