Security for Cargo Pilots

Do cargo pilots go through the same security that passenger airline pilots go through? I think I remember reading somewhere that the freight guys/gals go through less than pax pilots.

Cargo security? IMPORTANT

I'll bet the TSA / FAA wouldn't approve of security details being discussed on a forum like this .... duh!

I wasn't asking specific details here

I know on that on National Geographic's Air Emergency that guy from FedEx brought all that stuff in guitar case, and I figured that meant the security was lighter... that's all.

Remember that the guy on the National Geographic channel was involved in an incident that occurred quite a while ago. Since then cargo security screening has increased and additional measures have been taken to secure the nations cargo aircraft to prevent a similar occurance.

Cargo operators have their own adopted security programs that are similar to those security programs adopted by passenger airlines. Both are overseen by the FAA and TSA (and other applicable international agencies.)

That's what I was wondering. Thanks!
