Congrats to purple guys. Very good news. In the mean time UPS furloughs pilots and is pulling two of it's clapped out 75,000 hour former cargolux 400's out of the desert in an effort to play catchup. Thats logistics.

How many firm orders does this 777 make? 50ish? I can't remember the number.

I think it's 38, with an option for 15 more. (15 + 15 + 6 + 2) This does not include the two AF jets.

993pilot 09-30-2010 01:23 PM

Yep, 40 with the AF birds plus we're looking at 25 to 30 SIA 777-200ER's to convert.

Are they really buying back everyone's vacations in the 777?

or are they targeting the instructor's vacations so they can keep the school house fully manned and to continue pumping new crews out?

Although I haven't seen an FCIF yet, it appears they are ALSO buying back MEM11CAP vacations in NOV?

How can that be? Just a few short weeks ago we were so OVERMANNED that we were FORCED to take it up the 4.a.2.b!*?

Magenta Line 10-01-2010 11:18 AM

An entire crop of vacation buy-backs in Nov, FCIF just released.......

Help fight against the UPS plan to pull FedEx drivers out of the RLA, as the current model leads to more freight diverted to Express to ensure reliability. Instead, if UPS loses this fight, maybe they'll have to model themselves like FedEx, with separate drivers, and, to increase reliability, expand the airline.
