FDX deviate to CGN
I need some help from the Int'l folks.
I'll be deviating on a trip next month into CGN. I can go direct from the States to FRA.
Corp travel says that all flights from FRA to CGN are sold out on the day I travel. When CGN is entered into Orbitz.com, QKL comes up. A quick search indicates that QKL is a train station. Corp travel is just as confused as I am.
Bottom line: Anyone have advice on the easiest way get from the FRA pax terminal to the hotel in CGN? I've never been to either one.
Thanks!

The InterCityExpress train (ICE, 1st Class) is the way to go. Visit the German Rail website for schedules and costs (~$100).
Select Frankfurt(M) Flughafen and Köln Hbf from the dropdowns. Or modify the stuff in this

Trains run often, so you can purchase tickets at the station from kiosk or travel center, best to reserve a seat for 'rush hour' trains. About a 15-20 minute walk from terminal to train station, mostly indoors.
Don't forget to select Deviation, Train (instead of GT) on your expense report.

Another easy deviation is DUS. It's a lot closer to CGN than FRA and there are several trains. Check also with your ground transport vendor. Our vendor at UPS, Helga Hansen, will pick up or drop off at either DUS or FRA. It's about a 40 minute van ride between our hotel and the DUS airport.

If you deviate to DUS, you can take the train from the DUS airport to either the Koln Main Station or Koln Airport. It is a 40 minutes train ride from DUS. You can also fly direct from ATL to DUS which will make it only a 2 leg commute from MEM. I was just there in November and either DUS or FRA would work well.
