Default MEM hotel for training

I have a two day CMV1 event coming up. Used to stay at the Courtyard Marriott, but now they are asking around $75, breakfast included. I used to pay around $50 or so last year, without breakfast, but that option is not there anymore, it seems. Any other suggestions, nearby the airport, with transportation?

Hampton Inn over at Hacks Cross was giving us a deal with transportation to AOC but not sure about the Gucci building. You can get their info on the web and call? Good luck!

I tend to stay at the Airport Radisson. Their daily rate is $54. A bit higher if you do the 24 hour rate. They'll take you to the Gucci building and AOC. A room facing the pool is a bit quieter. Not much scenery this time of year.

PS If you book a room through Radisson's central res system they will give you a higher rate. When you check in the hotel will "fix" it.

Seconded, quite possibly the most pilot/fedex friendly motel in Memphis area.

The ~$75 rate is the FDX corporate rate. You want the crew rate of $55. To get this on an online reservation enter "FEDFEDA" under the Group Code (Crew ID required at check-in). If it's not available for some reason you can try to make the reservation with the "FDX" Corporate/Promotional Code and they will usually make the adjustment when you check in. Good location, great people working there.

My experience only, your mileage may vary.

You are correct. I ended up staying at the Courtyard, and found out that this is true. I didn't know about the online code. That's good to know, but as you say, if you book online, or on the phone, they will quote the higher price, but you will get the lower rate when you check in. Nice hotel, btw. Never had a problem there.

Any ideas/suggestions on where one could stay if bringing family members for, say, an 8 week training A place with a kitchen, living/dining room, safe area...

I'd like to learn about crashpads for a later date, but if I'm taking my wife and son, would obviously prefer to have something more private.

I've been looking at short term leases on condos, but everything seems pretty pricey.

If you fine aviators have a suggestion I would certainly appreciate it.
