I did all of my writtens with All ATPS back in the day. It was computer based and got a 99 and a 100. Owner is retired FDX; if you have a problem I'm sure he'll fix it.

Tell All ATPS they need to offer a home study program that costs $75. Did my ATP with them and hated the experience, in Chicago. I was told "go sit in front of this old crappy CRT monitor and study for 10 hours". Then took the test. Passed, but what a miserable day. And it cost me $295. Rip off.

Sitting in the hotel on my own time studying was MUCH more comfortable and conducive to learning.

Sheppard Air.
All ATPS.

Sheppard Air is the way to go...smaller test bank.

Exact same thing happened to me. AllATPs for my ATP, which consisted in showing up at 8, and in front of a computer ALL DAY LONG. No hints, memory aids, nothing. Took all day and it sucked!

Sheppard Air rocks! Downloaded the program Tuesday, studied in the comfort of my home as much or as little as I had time for, took the test on Saturday and got a 99, and it took me 23 minutes to go through all of the questions. Ive never felt as comfortable taking an FAA written as I did this one!

I wish they had that back when I had to get the tests. It was an all day CRT review with the test the next day. Sheppard sounds like a much better deal. It was the only fast option back then; thought it was expensive but didn't care since I needed it right away.

There's learning going on? ... thought it was to fill squares and get hired.

My experience with ATP today was not as positive as last time. The room was either freezing or burning up. There were 4 questions that were not in the review. I made a 96% as compared to 99% 6 years ago.

Their database does not have all the questions that are or can be on the test. Additionally, even if you answer a question correctly, you may get marked wrong as I did. This was explained to me at the beginning and they said they just run the software.

The 295.00$ price is way overpriced for what you get.

Get the book, study the questions and answers and then go take the test.

I got a 94% but should have a 100%.

They say "Too bad".

Second bad experience with ALL ATPS.
I just had the same experience, I don't think that a 94 is going to be looked down upon thought. I was unimpressed by ATP.

Shepard Air - the only way to go. Best money I ever spent on test prep. They whittle down the questions, and you just review them until you fill your brain. You'll get to the point where you read the first few words of the question and you'll know the answer is "c". Go in on test day and empty your brain. Takes about 20 minutes. Got a 98.

I had to second the above. Best test prep of all the one I've used so far. Hopefully it will be the last FAA written I will ever need though!

I also highly recommend Shepard. I did ATP 4 years ago for my FE and did pretty well (94%).

When I heard about Shepard air on this forum I decided to give them a try. Since it wasn't a one day thing like ATP I was able to study in my spare time (during my trip on the overnights).

What really sets them apart from ATP is the study guide they have. This helps with the questions using charts, graphs, and calculations. After studying over 1 four day trip I took the test and scored a 100%. And it was cheaper overall than ATP. Nothing against them, I just am really pleased how well Shepard air prepares you.
