Why argue with these trolls (FHP and Malter)?

We must learn to decipher Normies posts. He speaks Clinton speak. See he made a confession when he said: "Lets talk about our pay rates. At Southern Air and places like Kalitta Air."

See Normie is admitting he works for Southern Air.

No argument. Did you read my post. I said ALPA can claim a lot of things but FDX pay rate aint one of them. Which contract got us Delta plus a nickle? Was it the FPA contract or the ALPA contract? Or was it the handbook payrates with their average inflation adjustments?

Anything violate the Obama civility rules in my posts I think not.

Yah, I read your post. And, you were wrong. Pre-union FDX pay rates were directly related to ALPA pay rates. That was meant to keep ALPA off the property. As time went on, the FDX rates became "75th percentile" of the average of those carrier's rates. Later, they became "75th percentile" of whatever operator's rates management decided to use. Later, they just stopped doing the quarterly review.

Falling far behind the ALPA pay scale was one of the straws that broke the camel's back and caused the FDX pilot group to unionize. So FDX payrates have always been directly related to ALPA's payscales. The only difference between then(pre-union) and now, is that we are now responsible for negotiating the top ALPA payscale.

The real question is: Now that we have our chance...Are we the varsity, or JV. Because we know that, "when you need the TD you give the ball to the ones that perform.":rolleyes:

Sorry about the last paragraph..I just can't get CT's post out of my head.

So which contract got us our big Delta plus a nickle raise?

I have no doubt the prevailing wage has a lot to do with Fedex pay rates but IPA has as much to do with our current payscales as ALPA, probably more.

You lost me...What was your point here?

Yawn, what was the fdx payrate prealpa; pre FPA again? How does it compare to todays? Alpa may be able to claim a lot but FDX pay rate aint one of them.

ALPA has everything to do with our current payscale. We are ALPA!! And, I would certainly hope that today, IPAs hourly pay rates are more the benchmark, that we compare ourselves with.

If you want to argue semantics I can argue semantics all day. Our payrate today is basically the same as it was pre ALPA PreFPA. If you want to claim that was because Fred wanted to keep alpa off the property go ahead doesnt change anything. Both union contracts (and the current TA) never got us (not counting the guy who got the corvette) anything more payrate wise than what we had plus inflation.

I've thought that for a LONG time. In fact, I propose that FDX ALPA send IPA money to help their negotiations along!*?:eek::eek:

So maybe this time we should negotiate those rates AFTER IPA. Taking the TA does just that.
