Race to KMEM

OK, who was I trying to beat back into MEM last night? I was in the Lear joking about I will beat the FedEx Heavy to GQE -10 at 12,000. My penalty...they issued me vectors to 27. Yes, a 15 mile final for 27!

You can't mess with mother nature, or a FedEx inbound for that matter. It's the law!:D Especially around Mecca-Red-Necka.

Sounds exactly like dealing with SWA at any airport they commonly fly. Seems like we always get put behind them even if call first for taxi or whatever.

Try being behind them when your jet's slowest approach speed is about 170 kts indicated!
