It's not clear what Oak Hill and Crandall are up to, but "Fang" did not sign on merely to be an adviser, a figurehead, or a second banana. It is not in his nature. All hands stand by with grappling hooks and boarding pikes!

Love him or hate him....Bob Crandall is no bean counter with little or no airline experience like many running the show today... Bob Crandall can run an airline...he is no friend of unions however. I agree with Tom... hang boys... it could get interesting.

I worked for Crandall ... once. Never again. He invented the "B" scale. He perfected management/pilot spite. He is a snake. If you think for one minute that he is in it for anything other than his own greed, think again.
Read the book "Hard Landings" by Pretzinger(?). It is a study of airline deregulation and features Crandall and most all of the other robber barons of the late 20th century. It helps one understand them and the cold, vile venom that runs through their veins.

After old sugar Bob see's what Pilot's work for and under what conditions at Southern, he will have a small celebration, saying "see I told everybody pilots would work for nothing". Heck he probably will even advocate a raise, just because the numbers are so small compared to what he is used to.
