New Leaks At Fedex

Since today is the first day of the MEC actually seeing the TA, I thought it might be interesting to start a new thread, catering to any leaks from the union between now and the MEC voting. Please post any new news on the contents of the TA on this thread. I would think that by tomorrow there will be plenty of new info out.

I heard on the crew bus that the A380 pay rates were not split from widebody because the company knows there are plenty of guys who would fly it for narrowbody pay rates.

I heard two things tonight:

1) A380 rates are broken out by a specific percentage rate. Somewhere between 5 and 10% higher than WB rates.
2) We're gonna get to actually bid for recurrent training sessions instead of "requesting" them.

Section 11 has been TA'd for over four months and has been on the MEC website for all to read. So, this bullet isn't new information.

It's in Section 11.D.2.b

Now would be a good time for folks to go read those sections while waiting for the rest to come out of the MEC tomorrow.

BTW, Traveling Expense is there also, so if one wants a look at what the new per diem rates and other associated numbers are, see Section 7.

We had a new leak on our B-727 APU this morning. Deferred. Was overserviced.:)

As a guy who bids 45% on the 727 F/O seat but got his 27th out of 30 "requested" training slots this month, I am GLAD we got that language changed. (Its in the TA'd Chapter 11 on the web). Sometimes it seems training ENJOYED starting scheduling your training working from the BOTTOM instead of the TOP of the list...

The reason you were so low was because some of your buds didn't like what they got last month, and called in sick. They then had first priority. It wasn't the schedulers giving you the shaft, it was your fellow FO's.

I heard that all training will be paid the value of one R day, no more conflicting trips and getting paid 15 -18 hours for 2 days training. I think that's from another thread.

There might be some guys who do that intentionally but bottom line it is the company's rule about grace month guys getting out of seniority priority that is hosing the rest of us. Many guys get involuntarily moved to their grace by crew scheds especially with vacation conflicts.

Even though you bid 45% in a seat does not mean you bid 45% in a training bid either. You may be unlucky and be due in a month where 75% of the guys are senior to you !

The R-day value is what we asked for in the Final Table Position from last October. That is another good read before we see the TA. It'll give you an idea of what we asked for vs. what we got.

As far as conflicting with trips, not sure how or if that will be affected. It's conceivable that since you are now going to be responsible for bidding your training slots, you won't get to intentionally conflict your trips and training. Of course, I see where a junior pilot (me) may have no other option than to bump trips.

Oh well, too much speculation.......We shall soon see.
