Fedex Reserve Question
Reserve gurus:
I have a question about domestic duty limits on reserve. Let's say you fly a trip an over night trip and return the next morning. Your local showtime for the return leg home was 6AM (Elvis time). You arrive at 10AM. Being a B reserve, you are assigned a trip that afternoon when you arrive. It is the same footprint, an afternoon launch, layover, next morning return. My question is this: Are we limited to a 13 hour duty day (CBA scheduled limit) or some other limit when we are being hub turned? I said 13 and I was told by a "reserve pro" that as a reserve, we were always good for a FAR max day. Say it isn't so, it will cost me a beer... |

I have another reserve question. Are you suppose to get a 48 buffer before ITU even if you have reserve days up to the first day of training?
On another note: are you entitled to min days off protection when you have ITU if you asked for min days off during the conflict/input window; my issue if that I had no reserve days knocked out other than those that specifically conflicted with ITU training. I'll end up working 6 reserve days plus 7 training periods and then I am sure that they will put IOE on my requal schedule immediately following my sims. Those aren't on my schedule yet, but after IOE is applied I will end up working well within conflict of min days off. Do I have a case after IOE is applied during the same bid month? Probably not... |

Probably not... 48 hr buffer is only if assigned an intl trip in excess of 120hrs TAFB otherwise it is 12 hrs. No min days off protection for training They can work you as many days as they desire during training and IOE. Aint our CBA great |
My IOE on the 11 during the height of 4a2b was a 111 hrs on paper and was paid 53 hrs. Thats gotta be some kind of record:rolleyes: Hope you all get through training before the next round of 4a2b.

Duty limits are based on numerous things. What time did you show for the trip that day (day vs night limits), are you reserve, trade, PDO, Draft, etc.
Then there are the "scheduled" limits vs "operational" limits. They can't go to 16 hrs just for you unless they declare an operational emerg., or you voluntarily extend up to 16. Usually, your operational limit will be your cap. This is only for domestic. Intl., get out your grid pending landings and block hours per period. |
