FDX - MD11 Training Capacity?

FDX - MD11 Training Capacity?
Does anyone have an idea on how quickly the company can move pilots through MD11 upgrades per month? There are about 250 or so CA's and FO's on the practice bid who appear to need the Full Monty.
Trying to WAG the training dates... I know... futile..

I counted over 300 if you include MEM, ANC and LAX. Divide that by the estimated "18 month" training period until the next bid and that's roughly 16 a month or 4 a week.
Of course in the past, I've seen them accelerate training across all aircraft and seats by utilizing offsite simulators and even contract training. So its anyone's guess.

Hypoxia is sorta right. I've seen capacity up to 8-10 crews a week every week. That has since been reduced to 4-8 crews every two weeks. It depends on how quickly the company wants to get it done and how much they want to spend. It comes down to sim capacity. As we've added more crews, recurrent training has increased so we've had to reduced ITU throughput. I think Hypoxia's call on 16 crews a month is pretty close to the number.

The 727 can handle about 16 a month. However, if they combine crews and train Captains, FO's, and SO's all in one session they can get more. The trouble is the bottleneck in the FTD's.
If they go offsite, this will increase exponentially. Then, they will be bottlenecked with lack of instructors IMHO.

There are also limitations on IOE --- especially with the shrinking bid pack.
Recently, I've heard 18 per month max --- 12 per month optimal.
YMMV.

The variable that is unknown is where you flow into the training schedule. You have to take into account where everyone else is coming from and what that seat manning is also.

Need a little more info....
How senior is the S/O?
What BID award 10-02 (??) for the Airbus? That pilot will go first.
If the pilot is going from 10-02 Airbus to 11-01 MD-11 (and has not gone to Airbus Training...per the Q&A/FCIF, that pilot will never go to Airbus training and will be put into senority order for the MD-11). If the pilot is junior, figure 12-18 months....

Ok, a mid-seniority airbus FO already in seat bids mem md 11 FO on this bid. A junior so bids same, both get awarded. Can company train SO first since different seat origin? If so would airbus FO get passover?
