Default FDX stand by shenanigans

Did any one notice that when 4a2b hit all the standby pairings disappeared. Hey look we need less pilots.

How come at the start of some bid months there are more (artificial) sby pairings and later in the month they just don't exist. ... Keeps one from trading moving R days?

Has anybody noticed on the 11 and 30 there are OVER 20 sby pairings on July 5 and just about as many on the 4th. What is scheds trying to do?

To quote O's most enlightening comment: "Because we can."

On the 75, they put as many STDBY pairings as max open. That way nobody can trade, move R days, or drop. Only MakeUp is possible...

Quite a scam!!!! Because they can OR Because WE let them?? Our leadership needs to grow a pair....

Who needs to grow a pair? Those that volunteer and lead are us. We are them.

I've heard FedEx doesn't have a fatigue problem because we don't fill out PORs on brutal pairings. Really? Our bad pairings would quickly be highlighted if we stopped flying fatigued.

Ok its not 4th of July like the original post but now its peak. The number of SBY pairing is ridiculous. Makes dropping, trading, moving days nearly impossible. So its not a contract violation but, we all know its not right. The company leaves us no other option than to call in sick if we need to modify our sched.

This is what happened in Anchorage for nearly a year prior to the "over 60 pilots will just have to wait their turn to bid back to a window seat" excess bid.
Then manglement sent you-know-who to find out why people were calling fatigued/sick.
