Default FDX-Interim Elections in blocks 1 & 4

I hope everyone is enjoying the 4th in proper fashion... I mean, of course not the SIG/PSIT boys who are yet again building our bid packs on a national holiday! Don't worry, as this happens at least 3-4 times a year!

More pressing matters sailing by unnoticed are elections on Wednesday to replace the blocks 1 & 4 status reps. Yeah, 2 of 12 elected leaders being replaced with a simple majority present voting... Wanna guess how many show up? If past practice is any indication, 7-8 guys will determine the outcome for the 900+ LEC members eligible to vote.

The even better news is that 2 holdovers from the DW era are chomping at the bit to get back in... They want to lead us back to the past days of parking lot deals, buried city purity concession side deals, FDA LOA1, and more!

So, if you long for the return to the DW days, do nothing and let 2 of his vast minions (CB&TH) slide in unopposed, with their 6 closest friends casting the winning ballots.

Then again, if you give a rat$ a$$ about the direction of our union and do not want a return to the worn out days of the past, show up at the union offices on Kirby Pkwy at 1100 on July 6. All members in good standing in blocks 1,4,8 can vote.

Default nailed it!

They lost the palace coup and now will try to stack the deck so it doesn't happen again. A very logical tactic from the DW crowd. If I was them , I'd do it.

Default Funny

Its funny how you hide behind your false name and spread false accusations. I guess that is fitting for you. It's also funny how every time an election comes up you spread your lies, under your false names, to the favor of Scott Stratton. He puts out a unity message on the message line and then launches his henchmen with false tactics on the message boards at the same time. Funny. I guess you hope our pilots don't see the correlation.

"Capt." TH (In as much as that's how you signed your name, maybe you're running for Captain?). I remember your name ... Were you part of the FPA parking lot administration?

That TA was such a huge POS that management promoted PC to a VERY senior job. It looks like DW was hoping for a high paying ALPA National job but a good management job would not surprise me!*?

Aren't you union reps supposed to be representing the rank and file as opposed to yourselves?

Yes, I did sign my name to my post. I notice you didn't. Since you clearly you are just a minion of Scott Stratton, I will speak directly to him. Scott, you know full well that I had nothing to do with the parking lot deal. In fact, I resigned as communication chairman the day after it happened and then ran a campaign for Mike Weiland for president of the FPA to remove those responsible for making it happen. But of course you already know that. Again, lies and deceipt from you. I have to ask why? Do you really feel so vulnerable that you have to stoop to this low tactic? Let me repeat what I told you when you were first elected, I'm not your enemy.
If you truly seek to fairly represent our pilots, you have nothing to fear from me. Only if you are too afraid to stand up to the company and get us a fair contract or you are so corrupt that you need to hide your liberal use of trip pay loss for your personal friends and you are uncomfortable letting that into the light of public scrutiny would you need to fear my election. Are either of those things true? I guess we can tell if they are by your actions. I think you said actions speak louder than words in your last campaign piece. Let's see. Do you continue to use deception in a craven attempt to influence voters or do you not? Are you really interested in unity or do you just use that as a convenient catch phrase? Can you speak in the light of day or do you need to use anonymous character assassins?

Your actions will speak louder than words.

Good on you Tony for using your real name.

Please enlighten us about the deceit and lying you speak of. I'm not an insider and haven't gotten the scoop yet.

Tony,

"Varsity Chuck" uses his real name also and continues to fall back on his management values ...

I'm not sure anyone would want a block rep that starts out his representation feuding with both the membership and union administration.

Whether you like it or not, you will always be associated with the corrupt "Parking Lot Administration." Stink like that lasts forever. (I wonder if FF could/should have gone to jail for acting against the direction of the membership?). Your FPA association doesn't smell right as we head into contract negotiations. Maybe you could get a job on the company side of the table? FF was a former management guy, was he getting "under the table" benefits for acting against the membership's wishes?

Regards ... MaydayMark (my real name)

Default honesty

Hey Gunter,

I believe that union leaders need to be honest and open with their constituents. That is why I am not afraid to use my name. When I was on our Board of Directors, and later our MEC, I always had one basic rule that I applied to decisions that were being made. If we couldn't get up in front of our pilots at 2:00 am in the hub and tell them what we are doing and why, then it was probably the wrong thing to do. Scott Stratton ran on a transparency pledge but his actions tell a different story. He secretly negotiated a contract extension while he kept the pilots completely in the dark. Some of the MEC members themselves said they did not know a TA was in the making until it was basically complete and they had no say in what was being negotiated in the shortened deal. He has refused to inform us as to our own polling results. He never mentioned to us why we dropped our efforts for remuneration from 4a2b. He quietly changed the officer work rules so he could stay at home and still get the 105 credit hours of pay while he telecommutes but never mentioned that us. And, today, right now, he sends anonymous hit men to attack my past service knowing full well that what they say is false. None of that is transparent.

To view the deceptions I spoke of, just look at what his Chicago style machine is throwing at me. They associate me with the parking lot deal. Completely false. I not only had nothing to do with that but resigned my position as communications chairman the next day in protest and ran a presidential campaign against the leaders who were responsible. He associates me with being pro management because I use my real name on my post! Also false. In my book, credibility has a name attached to it.

You see the campaign tactic being used is to discredit my past service to the pilots in order to bring me down to the level of my opponent who has no past service. It is cowardly and is beneath honest men. That is why Scott has to use anonymous people to do it. But if you look at the common thread of attacking my past service, you will see it brought up now in my opponents opening campaign piece and 2 or 3 different posts on this messageboard. That's called coordination.

It's really too bad they have lost sight of what a union job really is. I can promise you, if I get elected, I won't forget the job is to serve our pilots and get them the best contract possible. The last TA was a capitulation and smells far more like the original FPA the anything I ever did. It smells to me a lot like it did in 1997 and 1998 and I want to get in there and prevent these leaders from taking us to the next parking lot deal. As a block rep, I'll have some power to prevent just that.

Tony,

I think you're giving too much credit to the conspiracy. Could be...But, I think the "pile on" is just APC attitude, not a coordinated attack.

11 angry men,

There were some honorable people involved with FPA. I would certainly love to have had George S. negotiating our past contracts/LOA's.
