FedEx: 757 Training Letter
Just noticed on the 757 Training Letter that there are no F/Os scheduled for training starting on 12 September through the next five classes ending on 10 October. Wonder if the company plans to offer these slots to new hires for CGN? I guess they could start offering in July and keep offering as late as September and still fill these slots. With the manning issues in the training department, I can't see Captains going through training with support pilots (or even worse, trying to fly seat support for each other).
Also wonder, if they don't get any takers, if they will move the MEM F/Os up to fill the slots.

I jumped on FX about a month ago. They seemed to insinuate that newhires would fill those CGN slots since not enough existing guys bit it. The FO (MD10) bid it as CA.
I think I remember them also saying that they would be base-locked for a period of time, as well.
1st year FO pay in CGN would be tough.

They need both --- and the company has publicly stated it is going to train new hires in all the FO seats, except 777, soon.

The training letter is now filled out with "E57F New Hire Pilot #x" listed in the 2 FO slots for the 5 classes starting 12 Sep, as well as 1 in the 29Aug and 17 Oct classes. Looks like lots of new hires in Cologne.

What would be a guess as to how many pilots that would cover? 7 classes of 10 (70)?

... same for the MD11 and ANC throughout the fall ...

My understanding is they are offered a job in Europe, HKG, or ANC. No new hires to MEM at the moment.
These classes are 757 training classes with 2 Captains and 2 FOs, so the numbers I saw equal 12 (5x2, 2x1) CGN FOs, which is what the last bid came up short.

If nobody bid it, it's hard to blame the company for sending new hires.
Personally ... I'd be glad to go to HKG, ANC, or CGN, if necessary, to get a job at FedEx
