Or are you saying you would walk up to either one and be disrespectful? Somehow I don't see you walking up to your chief pilot and letting him know he was/is a D-bag....and I see that little scenario even less with the President.

So yes, the office deserves respect even if you don't like/disagree with the man currently holding it.

Just my 2 cents....and worth less

I have to disagree with you. There is a big difference between the President and my Chief Pilot. I work for the Chief Pilot, last time I checked I do not work for the President. Thus, the president only deserves the respect he earns.

So you respect the man because you work for him but not the most powerful office in the world?

My kids address all adults by mr/mrs...or yes sir no ma'am. Why? Because I have taught them that adults deserve respect. They don't "need" to know them.....

I think congress could learn a thing or two about respecting one another..... or maybe we are on our way to be the British House of Commons or the S Korean house where they get into fist fights?

Everyone has a right to believe what they wish. I respect your rights to do so.....

Agree 100%. In the military, members are taught to respect the rank, not the person. Same goes for the Office of the President.

This used to happen right here in our own country, back when congress actually accomplished something. Maybe, we need to go back to it.

What you are referring to is respecting the office of the president. Yes most Americans respect the office because we honor the country and the constitution, but this does not mean we have to respect the man in the office.

King George was the most powerful man in the world in 1775, didn't show him much respect did we? I can name a few other adults who don't deserve much respect either. Not everyone deserves blind repect, it's earned.

Seriously, if you had a son, would you tell him to grow up and act just like Bill Clinton, because he was the president and one to emulate.

Come on....nowhere did I say emulate, I said respect. You devalue your argument with hyperbole. And yes my kids would respect Bill Clinton for having been the President but they know enough who to emulate on their own. And I never said blind respect. I just don't think it is respectful to call the President a Muslim as a slur.... Or even Barack. It goes both ways. Democrats and Republicans could learn to respect each other....

I originally posted that what was written was disrespectful to the President... I stated why. I am done with this....

To each their own......

Adolf Hitler, Mao Zedong, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot, Berry Obama, all men we should respect because they occupied a high office.

Got it.
