Electronic logbook VS: Old kind???
 

Do companies (UPS FEDEX) care if you have an electronic logbook for the interview? (printed on a page and put in a binder) or do they want the whole thing written out "old style"?

I had the last 7 years of flying all on electronic log books. I used Logbook pro, and exported the whole logbook in "Jeppesen style" onto .pdf. Then went to Kinko's and had it printed and spiral bound with a pretty plastic cover and vinyl back. It made 2, 200 page books. Just make sure to sign the all the pages, and you should be good. I had lots of notes in the remarks section, and it led to some questions about previous flights.

I just had those two and my old student logbook for the FedEx interview, the interviewers seemed to like the cleanness of the printed books. BTW, they hired me.

I am a mil guy. I brought a military flying history report, and a computer logbook printout of my multi-engine turbine PIC time. Nothing fancy, just a few sheets of paper in a clear binder. They asked a couple of questions about it. Nothing serious. I think that they liked the organized simplicity of how I presented my hours.

I highly recommend the logbook pro electronic format. Neil also offers a service now where they will do the initial data entry for all of your time if you're too busy. I did mine while on furlough. It makes a great presentation when you interview with the different reports you can put together in addition to the printed logbook you can make up with their leather binders. Very Professional Job!!!

I will look into it, Right now I have a excel version that I made. It has reports for all the times on a seperate page, and adds up time etc. but it looks like this pro version might have a little more.....appreciate the tip

I've used logbook pro for several interviews; most recently, for UPS. I brought my original log only because it contained the "sign-offs," etc. My interviewers didn't care to even look at it...they only looked through the logbook pro print-out that I had prepared/printed/bound as one of the previous posters described. In the end, I think they appreciated the 'clean' presentation.

I've had the pleasure (?) of inputting nearly 6000 hours into Logbook Pro over the last few months while on a deployment. I love it! I've tried FlightLevel and Jeppesen's products in past and were very disappointed with them, especially the Jepp version.

The custom reports has made filling out applications a breeze. Every company wants slightly different info, broken down in differenty ways. At the click of a button I can get exactly what I Need.

The support from Logbook Pro has been top notch! I've had a few technical problems (user error) and the company responded very quickly, once within a few hours!

Well worth the money/time/effort!

I believe if you have an excel format, you can either send that file and they will put the information into their program and send it back to you or you can import it yourself.

What kind of things are they looking for? Anything special in the remarks section, or just see where you have been flying to??
