But what would we talk about in recurrent if the MD11's were to go?

As much as I love the Douglas tri-jet, I think the MD-11 Fleet would be the next to go.
Didn't we take delivery of the last new A300 off the line in 2007?

I read in Bloomberg that the 767 cost is considerably lower than the 330. Whether they are comparing used or new aircraft the article didn't say but I was shocked at the price difference.

Really have to agree with boxhauler. You have crossed a line Gunter, and should apologize. Way beyond the pale.

The complexity of purchasing airliners from the manufacturer makes it nearly impossible to compare apples to apples, even for a serious and reputable organization such as Bloomberg. I wouldn't put too much into the reported numbers.

Rest assured that Fred's team is going to buy the one that provides the one with the greatest forecast ROI... unless they buy the one that provides the most political leverage... or the one that looks best in purple and white... or???

"No duh" about FedEx whipsawing Airbus and Boeing. If you actually read the phrase of mine that you quoted, you'll notice I said "I" would like to see an all Boeing fleet. I like flying them and the seem to be more reliable than the Bus.

2.1 Type Rating. The Boeing 787 is designated B-787. In accordance with the provisions of FAA Order 8900.1 and AC 120-53A, the B-777 and B-787 are assigned a common pilot type rating.
