Hey, maybe we'll buy 'em!! We bought Air France's 777s and other than a screwed up pax oxygen arrangement, they're adding to our bottom line quite nicely!

Another kick in the jimmies for Boeing. They can't buy a break these days when it comes to getting new airplanes out the door.

Word is that the initial -8s are coming in slightly overweight. Additionally Cargolux is struggling financially to come up with the funds due at delivery of the new planes - so they are using the overweight issue to defer deliveries/payments they cannot afford at this time. (don't have any confirmation for this)

Boeing 747-8 Hits ?Horrendous? Setback as Cargolux Puts Off First Delivery - Bloomberg Another article on it...

From the various news articles on it today, it sounds like Cargolux has been complaining about the B748 delays being a financial drain... it seems crazy to refuse them now that they're finally ready, but with what bigfatdaddy said, it makes sense now. =/

I'm disappointed... I was looking forward to catching a glimpse of one here.

What's with Boeing lately? They're really struggling to get these planes out the door. The 787 especially.

I'm thrilled they're finally delivering the first one, but how many orders and options did they lose because they were taking so long? =/ That's what worries me. Or is that just the norm?

A few walked, but not a significant number. Difficult to lose any order, but there were a number of factors to consider as to why they walked as well. That said, still sitting on 830 plus orders and there's room for more.

Norm(al) is not a word I would use to describe this program.

And on Pprune there's talk since Qatar bought 35% of CargoLux and they're not happy since their 787s are late they are pressuring CargoLux to pressure Boeing.

My guess, when you outscorce American jobs to every country in the world and three tribes in the Middle East you get this as a result. Even Boeing admits this. Next time, don't trip over a dollar to pick up a penny...the CEOs at most passengers airlines have proven this doesn't work.
