Seems so disrespectful to just smash the thing up out there in the open. You'd think they could have found a hangar somewhere to stash it away and cut it up with a little dignity.
Must have been a fun job for the steamshovel operator.

On another level, it is so sad to see a great bird like the -8 get that kind of treatment. It looks like she went down fighting to the bitter end.
Hopefully, some day I'll be drinking a cold beer from a can made from her aluminum!

Yeah RVR, that is a sad end to a fine machine. It doesn't look from the pictures like they salvaged the engines or anything. Would the insurance company not let them do it?
