FedEx in IAH

Just wondering if there is a shuttle from the FedEx ramp to the passenger terminal in IAH?

Thanks!!!!!

Nope...call a cab, or talk a hotel into riding their shuttle to the hotel and then to the airport. Trick is to get them to pick you up.

A cab from FedEx to the A concourse should run you no more than $5-7 with a nice tip. Heck, I've considered walking it because it's really close, the only downside is no sidewalks for part of it and it involves crossing a major street. I suggest going to the A concourse because it's the closest terminal to the cargo ramp and you can take the inter-terminal train to any other concourse from there.

Do NOT walk. I did it once ... and it was a complete disaster. No sidewalks, so you're wading through grass while vehicles whiz by at 50 MPH. Plus, IAH is usually hot/humid, and I sweat like a pig on the way over there. Not the best way to ask for a ride, when you smell like a troll, to say nothing of dragging your luggage through the tall grass all the way over there.

In my experience, a cab is the best way at IAH, and at most outstations. In their hubs, FedEx usually has shuttles available ... I've used them in MEM and IND.

Where else does FX have them?

I've used the one in EWR quite a bit.

For most facilities, we do not have shuttles. At Some of the major sort facilities (ie MEM, IND, and EWR) they have them but that isn't the norm at our facilities. Out stations are even less likely to have them and if there is something, it's because some savvy pirate broke the code. Asking the question here is probably one of the best ways to get the info.

There's a cargo shuttle in DEN, leaves the terminal at :00 and :30, and gets to FedEx at :10 and :40

Another IAH alternative is to ask the crew to ride along with the hotel transportation for about 1/2 mile south until they get to the stop sign. Jump out there, walk under the overpass about 200-300 yards to the rental car center and get on a bus going to the terminal. Usually faster than waiting on a cab. And I agree, DO NOT WALK either to the terminal or to the rental car center - the road is dark and there are no sidewalks.

Just did this about 2 weeks ago. Get a cab. It cost me $10 with a decent tip.

Didn't want to inconvenience the crew after they just gave me a free ride by asking for another one.

DO NOT WALK... No easy way to do it safely, and you'll sweat through your clothes by the time you get to A or B
