Default AVA October?

Does anyone know what is going on with AVA for October? There was an FCIF mentioning that it was available, but VIPS says it is not. Any ideas? Thanks.

From the FCIF:

Advanced Volunteer (AVA) for OCT 2011

AVA may be available in the following seat positions:

<
<
<
<
<
MEM 11F

"may" be??

The few times an AVA FCIF has included my seat, it has always been available......not sure, but the "may" might give the company the "needs of the company" loophole?

anyone else ever seen it in the FCIF, and then not materialize?

Now in the months they buy vacations they offer AVA "only on the days they bought vacations" So you have to figure out which weeks they bought them back and it will be available those weeks.... not all like the old days. If they bought back week #3 you can AVA week 3.

If you figure out a way know which weeks they bought back let me know.

So many problems..............

Look in the PDF version of the bid pack and see who is listed for vacation. Then look at their schedules and see if they are still listed for vacation. Start with the most senior folks since it is seniority based. Of course you can't do that for calendar blockers.

There was an FCIF a while back about how the scheduling manager was revamping the ava and the modeling process. Of course I can't find it anywhere but It was basically saying that it may or may not be available. Nice loop hole.
