Pilot iPhone apps

For international travelers that don't want to turn on international data, try CityMaps2Go. You can predownload maps of destination cities via wifi (They're large files) and the GPS function will show you where you are on the map. It also has POIs (Points of interest), though it doesn't work as well as the iPhone's native Google Maps.
Genius Scan+ is a great way to keep track of receipts. There's a non + version that's free, but the + version syncs with Evernote, Dropbox, and Google Docs. So, you get a receipt, take a picture of it, crop it, enhance it if necessary (all functions of Genius Scan), and automatically sync it with your cloud of choice, and when it's time to do expense reports, you can upload it from any computer connected to the internet. Works great. It can also save any picture as a PDF, though that doesn't work with the Fox system.
iChm Lite works with an ichm file, downloadable from the MagicWebFX website, and you've got the contract with working hyperlinks.
For currency conversions, I like XE Currency. It's customizable and easy to use.
Rooms lets you put your hotel room #, as well as your crew's #, so you don't have to carry your room key card sleeve. If someone knocks you over the head in the street, they at least won't know what room at what hotel to go rob. It also has a little GPS address function, so if you stray too far from the hotel, it can find your hotel for you.
I think someone else already mentioned it, but CardStar lets you keep a virtual wallet with all your frequent stay/frequent flyer accounts in one place, along with a scannable bar code where necessary.
For more secure numbers like credit cards and account #s, I like LockBox Pro.
Not work related, but another one I like is WebMD. You can enter symptoms to find possible conditions. I don't believe it can diagnose cranial/rectal inversion though. It also contains a wealth of info on drugs, side effects, first aid, find a local doc, identify a pill by shape, color and imprint and much more.
Another one already mentioned that I love is Soundhound for figuring out what a song is. You can even hum a tune into it.
And the Siri app is great for non iPhone 4S phones. It's not nearly as cool as the integrated version in the 4S, but I've had it for about a year. Update: It seems Siri has been removed from the app store...
All right, I'll shut up now and let someone else talk.

Instapaper - read internet articles offline (must sync while online, obviously) best $5 ever http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/insta...288545208?mt=8
Dropbox - syncs with a folder on your computer $0 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dropbox/id327630330?mt=8
Goodreader - more of a great iPad app, but nice functionality for storing and marking up pdfs like those lido charts and flight pubs (e.g., searchable FOM in your pocket) $5 (dang, used to be 99¢ for iPhone and iPad) Anybody using something similar?
