Default Fdx nonrev prices and booking

Came from an airline with travel benefits and now my wife wants to try the id90 or other nonrev avenues. Pretty new to FedEx and looking for information on how and where to book passes and what airlines are best. Thanks for the help!

I believe you have to go into Global Travel in MEM and fill out some paperwork to get the ID 90s. Good luck

Welcome! It won't be like what you and your wife were used to.

Check the pilot.fedex.com website, under Forms, then Personal Travel Forms. It stipulates six months on property. Then the folks in Global Travel can help you out.

I'm sure everyone has their own take on standby travel, but we don't do it anymore, with the high load factors & overbooking rates. (Maybe for a nonstop it wouldn't be too bad a gamble) My wife once flew Air Tran roundtrip, but got stranded on the ATL connection and had to buy a hotel & cab. So any "savings" were eaten up. From then on, we use miles or hotwire/priceline and enjoy greater peace of mind. But definitely, YMMV.

unlike the pax carriers, where you could "load up" on many refundable id 90s for multiple back-up plans, at FDX we must pay a non-refundable fee for every id90 you buy. I believe the id90 is refundable but the $25 fee per ticket is not.

echo what the other guys have said, unless you can travel at off-peak times (when all the kids are back in school), it is tough to get on most places that you'd want to go.

Coming from 8 years flying people with great travel benefits, it's not worth the hassle anymore! Your a pilot at FedEx now, online prices are cheap, search early and often and a guaranteed seat is much better than being stranded to save a few hundred bucks. Just my $.02.

And don't forget all the miles you'll earn deadheading.

"And don't forget all the miles you'll earn deadheading. "

Good point. Daughter went to South Florida for spring break last year. She used some of my miles and arrived on schedule. Her 2 buddies, (both airline kids,) arrived a day later and then took an extra day getting home.....
