On a scale from 1 to 10? FDX

Flight Operations executive management (EVP, SVP AND VPs) is working on my behalf.

What is the question?

A cargo plane flew to the sort facility and back. It took one hour less time to get there than it did to get back. The average speed on the trip there was 540 mph. The average speed on the way back was 500 mph. How can the Captain get his sponsored candidates an interview?

its the new survey on VIPS and it ask that you rank the statement.

1 being ... they don't do Sheit
10 being they come over on the weekends and wash your car.

by the way you could not enter a Zero.

Depends on where you are on the seniority list, what airplane and where you bid.

I know some really happy FOs. They are senior in seat. Not much seems to bug them. They look smarter to me every year.

Folks who upgraded at the earliest opportunity have had a much different life. Apparently taking JL's berating via e-mail to heart wasn't the best plan.

Every over 60 pilot that benefited from the "excess from the backseat" will rate management a 10.

Those who got a swift kick in the jimmies during 4A2b will probably choose a different number.

Not sure about 777 guys. They were living large during 4A2b but got routed on the pay rate.

Just did it, lots of 1's and 2's on the Flt Mgt questions. What did they expect:rolleyes:

I just did it also and really, I didn't give flight mangle-ment a lot of love either (top 20% here too BTW), especially for ?'s like the above. I did give props to the big FedEx, brand, culture, mom, apple pie, yada-yada. I do wish there were 0's.... would've handed a few out.

There were enough questions that restated the same issue to validate the responses from each pilot. Obviously, the rating questions limit the scope of your response.
The value of the survey is in the "fill in the blocks" sections at the end. We should use this opportunity to clearly tell them what works and what fails miserably, such as how "Fuel Sense" and "Safety First Culture" are opposites when looking at long range overwater international operations with few runway options at the destination end. Remember, if you can't make it in to KIX or NRT, neither will the other 122 airplanes scheduled to land there either!
"Fuel Sense" changed an ANC written policy of no less than all engine taxiing a while back. A ramper got injured after a super twin jet blew a can off of a trailer trying to get into one of the uphill parking spots. Luckily, he saw the can coming and started to make a dash. Unfortunately, the can was faster than he was. Fortunately he wasn't seriously injured or killed. Suddenly, someone at a desk in MEM decided that all engine taxi on a sloping (possibly rain or snow covered...) ramp wasn't such a bad idea after all. Penny-wise, pound and reality foolish.
Put your inputs and clear examples in the "fill in the blanks" area, don't waste the opportunity to give them feedback, but try to limit the emotionalism.
Took me about 15 minutes to finish the survey and another 5 or so to give written "suggestions." Don't waste this opportunity, folks, they don't come that often.

I like the question about the "new" SCP being able to save the day.....do we have an SCP that will be a bridge between upper management, with a credible, clear vision of what this crew force is and where it needs to go to be a safe and professional crew force, or a Mighty Mouse that will just show up when we need a beat down?

Appears to me that they got the pay rate they agreed to when they bid the acft....just like those that bid an FDA under the FDA LOAs. :o
