Enjoy negotiations fellas.
They will, ours. While we slug away they are peeking around the corner hoping the fight will go our way so they don't have to make an effort or take a risk.
ALPA joining in this fight just isn't going to happen.
The up side of this is that we don't have to listen to New Hire UPS pilots suggesting that we become part of ALPA.

We have new hire classes ? ... ... oh yeah I forgot, new managers

That wasn't even being suggested by new hires 5 years ago when hiring was in full swing ...

While they are in the suing mood, they oughta sue their companies for lobbying the administration for the carve-out and the administration for overruling the FAA's position. John Allen said the rules were written based on human fatigue science and the body doesn't know or care if the plane has pax or freight.

Yeah, did the final rules have any limitation on the number of consecutive nights one could fly?

I thought that was the big worry from commuters --- that we would lose the week-on/week-off type schedules with 4 or 5 nights of consecutive flying.

If not, the biggest change would appear to be the number of Reserves FEDEX would have to have for "weather events".

No more waiving the "FAA duty limit" magic wand --- paying everyone an extra 3 hrs --- and have pilots fly to 16 hrs.

I am wondering if FDX will still claim that these set of published rules would cause them to hire 800+ pilots if cargo ops were incluede?

We still hear all about how wonderful preferential bidding would be if we got it from some of the hires from that time frame. Yada, Yada," the commuter I used to fly for and we thought this was great"

Huh? I've NEVER heard of anyone, here or elsewhere, that was saddled with pref bidding that thought it was a good deal. It sucked at the major airline I used to fly for and it would be hell on earth at UPSS.

Who's "we" anyway?

Where are the others?

My guess is that they are carefully evaluating their position prior to wasting a lot of money on a lengthy, costly and ultimately unwinable action.

Who is to say what's unwinable...the gay mafia in California sued and got a judge to overturn a proposition voted in by a majority of voters.
