Whew - that's a relief. We all know how pro-labor the opposition is. Pretty sure they'd extend the 'cargo cutout' to an industry-cutout.

When they talk about reducing govnt regs, this is EXACTLY what they're talking about. A "free" market would fly pilots til they crashed and let you decide which company to trust your life/packages with. Same with medicines - anybody should be able to sell you a blue pill if you want to buy it. If it makes your wang explode, well, you won't buy one from them next time and the market will correct the charlatanism. Certainly the government shouldn't get in the way of that free transaction. Of course, you'll still have an exploded wang -- but I can sell you a pill for that!

Wow lets not make this political or anything. You are a frickin genius. That is exactly what capitalism is, robber barons killing off their means of production and for good measure they like to poison their customers.

BTW your pro labor president inserted the cargo cut out in a typical fascist deal that used government regulation to support his big business cronies.

Says the guy with the labor union-protected pay/benefits/work rules...

It occurs to me that the "big business cronies" you speak of are YOUR EMPLOYER. Seems Fred is more concerned with his $$$ than your safety/crew rest. Otherwise, wouldn't need a regulation for him to be cut out of.

And if fred bought anyone it was your guy in the white house(although I think he sat on the fence on this one). But I really dont think the Fred wants to kill off his means of production. Whether it is pilots or tug drivers, I am sure he wants us to lead long accident free lives. Up until the day when we retire, then he wont g a s.

Haha. Just to be clear, the current occupant of the WH is no more "my guy" than he is yours. I frankly wouldn't p!ss in his mouth if his teeth were on fire (but for probably different reasons than you). But if you think his opposition (any of them) would do ANYthing to improve your work rules, you're high. And that was really my only point.

Now, serious question: do you really think Fred wouldn't pay you less or work you more if you didn't have a union card? I mean, if he's "on the fence" is FDX going to sked in accordance with the new regulation in spite of the cutout? I don't think so. If it's all the same to him, he should, shouldn't he? Trust me: if it were totally up to Fred, you'd all be Chinese and making 1/2 of what you make now (if that).

Couldnt tell you, I can tell you the pay rates adjusted for inflation at FDX are about what they were pre union. I suspect Fred would pay us about what UPS would pay if there were no union. But I like being part of a union. Just wish mine was a little more aggresive. Not sure why this has drifted to anti union talk.

I can also tell you government motors is moving the chevy volt production to china, your tax dollars at work. At least it wasnt a vehicle that might actually sell. You made this about republicans for the life of me I cant figure out why. It is the pro labor (R U better off now then you were 4 trillion dollars ago) president that inserted the cutout. You seem to have a problem focusing.

As much as some of us would like to think in terms of unions and politics, it just boils down to money.

Eventually you will understand that the choices made are almost completely shaped by profit and loss.

Unions and politics are almost completely without meaning. What is holding you back is thinking otherwise. Neither side will ever help you, they only seek to exploit you.
