Default Fdx..."Fz"

So this might be a very dumb question, but I noticed on a few disputed pairings in the Boeing the identifier "Fz" after it. What does that mean?

They are frozen so you can't pick them up right now. Are they good trips? Often a charter gets frozen or if they're not sure the flight is going to go on that A/C. They don't want to pay you to sit at home and put an Airbus or B757 on it...

Trip is "frozen". Can't pick it up. It may be under revision etc..

Means the pairing is frozen.. And scheduling will not allow any action on that pairing. More often than not.. it's a good deal trip when they do this.. Gives them a chance to "select" who gets the good deal.

Interesting that it is being used for a DP.

They could give it to you, but you'd have to buy a kilt.

When scheduling uses the code "Fz" it means more than "frozen" or "no trip trades accepted".

It means they want to generate interest in said pairing by letting everyone see it. Scheduling has the ability to mask pairings they are building and not have them show up, don't let them tell you otherwise. They do this with trips that are open in the assignment window.

This way you will check open time to see if it's still frozen and take it off their hands when it's ready for pickup by a crewmember, standards or training scheduling.

Thank you guys, I learn something every day. I find it weird they are freezing DP's though.

Most likely they are considering a modification to it and are waiting on someone higher up to make the decision.
