How long have pilots been furloughed now?

I'm in the middle of the pack, and expect to be recalled for Peak 2013. This last round of recalls was initiated to try to get a reprieve from the no waivers no favors from the pilot ranks. I don't think it worked.
Thanks guys. Thats just my opinion. If I'm wrong my wife, dogs, and I will be extremely excited and I'll be buying all the cheese you can eat that night at F Street. |

Unrelated, but, back after Sept 11, my current regional R&I chairman basically said,"Any furlough doesn't break even for 18 months. Anything less than that the company is basically admitting that furloughing was a mistake. Anything more than that and the company actually shows "saving money". As a result, I don't expect to see any recalls till at least the 18 month mark, because they'll never admit that furloughing was a mistake."
Over the last two rounds of furloughs at my current employer, they were all 18-25 months in duration +/-. May 2010 + 18 = Oct 2011 - June 2012 +/-. Also the clock starts when the last pilot is furloughed - not the first. Now, age 65 kicks in Dec 13, 2012. So that may change things, a little. |
Fuzzy airline math.............May 2010 + 18 = Oct 2012........???????

It's not math... it's UPS math.

Jay,
I feel better now. I consider this furlough as a short term training event for retirement...................... :) |
Today, UPS VP of Flight Operations Matt Capozzoli announced that UPS would not be recalling any crewmembers in February or March of this year. Capozzoli did express the Company’s hope that additional crewmembers can be recalled beyond March.
So predictable, file suite, postpone recalls. Management there is such a joke. |
And the training continues..................I needed additional beach time anyway.
