They started out with grand plans but it has fallen apart for the most part it seems. As evidenced by my u/n, I thought I was in after I had my interview and starting looking forward to it. However they subsequently botched the 757 certification process and became "that airline" trying to undercut a lot of similar companies.

Last I heard, the 757 mess was never really worked out (could be wrong) and I guess they sent it packing (last hit on it was over 4 months ago on a flight to Europe). The 747-400 certification seemed to go a lot smoother but I only know of some random flying they’ve (I think they have two) been doing in addition to a stint at UPS during the Christmas rush. Their DC8-86 was put into some type of storage and it was still there the last time I was at YIP.

Hope that gives some insight. Nice people working there but I think their ambitions were to much.

Have seen one of their 757s in Afghanistan a once...maybe twice over the past few months. I also have heard "National Cargo Heavy" in this area of the world a couple times over the past week.

Hum.... so that is where it went. Well good for them! Glad it wasn't as bad as I'd heard.

National Airlines (UAE) Boeing 757 Safety Card - VERY RARE | eBay

Guess this answers the 757 utilization question

Wrong airline. N7 was based out of Las Vegas and is not the current National Airlines.

Re: Wrong Airline

That is not the wrong airline's safety card.... take a look again

You are correct. I just saw the top of the page with the old N7 safety card. The bottom half of the page didn't load correctly. My bad!..................

No worries :)

Well I'm sitting at 470/250 with 121 dispatch experience and 135 flying experience. Any chance of getting a call with those times? I really want to move on from dispatching.

Flying in/out of Afghanistan with under 500 hours TT of flight time would have been a tall order. I have seen guys with 10,000+ hours struggling to slam it in to Bagram and the rest of the Afghani garden spots.

I am not even sure you could have made the insurance requirements or the DOD requirements to fly a 757 on those contracts.

Have a buddy that works up at NCR. Here's what he's telling me:

2 B747-400BCF's on certificate. 3rd is due sometime in March.
Both of the 747's are tasked to the Middle East and are flying - a lot - like 3-5 t/l per day.
1 B757-200 is flying contracted private charters in the Middle East as well. Daily flights.
2 DC-8's (a -71 and -73) are still on certificate. The -63 is no longer flying.

2 or 3, maybe 4 B757-200 Combi's are going to starting coming on-line over the next year. He wasn't sure how many are actually coming as one of the combi's may be converted back to full pax config. He did say that 3 are being converted and another all-pax may be purchased.

They're growing. They used to be a small "mom and pop" airline. So the growing pains, in his words, are "something else".

Hope that helps.
