Default Fedex DP question

ANC DP 82/15Feb has been modified.

It appears the first leg from ANC-NRT was cancelled and a DH added. It's now 2111/12Feb.

The guts of the trip remain the same with the exception of the first NRT layover following the DH. It's now scheduled to have ~48 hours off prior to the first revenue leg.

The dispute was due to "night NRT depature, followed by several circadian swaps before a late reset". Now, once in Asia, the over 36 hour reset layovers equal the shorter ~24s.

You can see where I'm going with this. What's the general opinion. Is this still a DP?

Thanks.

I'd ask your PSIT members for their opinion. They are the ones who designated the original pairing a DP.

Once it's a DP, it's always a DP.

Ditto, you can put lipstick on a pig, but ..... It's still a DP, don't be tempted!

I believe it is a DP until the trip number changes

Nope, they will add a d/h and change the pairing number to entice somebody to take it, but it's still a disputed Pairing. Luckily the ANC group is pretty good about not flying DP's and policing their own. I wish I could say the same about MEM

Wouldn't that require a daily update from the Sig to give you the new pairing numbers of renumbered DP? I still think a revision with the same trip number remains a DP but a new trip number means the DP wasn't flown.

Okay, as a casual observer here, help me with the logic. I understand why you guys dispute pairings (onerous duty, night/day sleep cycle swaps, etc, ) and it's understandable why you don't want guys picking them up. However, if the point of disputing them is to try and get the company to fix whatever the particular issue is that makes them onerous, and the company actually does fix the pairing, then why would it still be disputed? It seems in this case that, for whatever reason, the company fixed the problem. Isn't that what you wanted?

Because it encourages the company to build onerous pairings which they can test the waters with. So, once they screw up and build it, it's a DP. There is a bit more to it, but that's it in a nutshell. We went down this road a few years ago and I contacted the SIG to find out their stance.

They can fix it prior to the next month and it won't be disputed.
