Will UPS acquire TNT?

Talk amongst yourselves. Any thoughts?

Strong rumors in EMEA that FDX are about to launch a bid too?

I hope FedEx outbids and overpays for TNT, but that probably won't happen. UPS will overpay, then violate our scope clause, overpay their attorneys defending themselves against the IPA, and in the end they will win any all arguments and furlough 500 pilots :)

NO WAY ... UPS FURLOUGH NEVER HAPPEN ...

Oh yeah, if you said furlough 1000 pilots it would be believable !

Facts from UPS's past.....they purchased Challenge Air Cargo but shed its planes and pilots. They purchased Emery and shed its contractors. Their history does not not involve one purchase where they brought along pilots, thank goodness as an IPAer. TNT is a ragtag of SmurfJets, small Boeings, and a handful of -400's who will eventually disappear when a deal is struck.

I'll bet my next paycheck that TNT will be purchased by UPS, and the associated SmurfJets, et al, will be out of work. Throw emotions into the mix, however, and my job feels threatened by a TNT purchase AND cargo UAV's!

Fact: UPS did in fact buy and keep some pilots. Those of IPX when UPS originally bought them and their operating certificate.

Yes, in order to start their own airline they did-- over 20 years ago. But since then I don't believe they've added one outside group to the pilot seniority list.

Whoever buys TNT, first task to accomplish is to get rid of those bloody 146's:( Skoda of the skies (and I'm talking original Skoda not the post-VW one!)

UPS purchased international routes and operating authorities from Challenge , not the airplanes or the certificate. UPS purchased Menlo , what was left of CF Emery , for the LTL business and from all appearances to eliminate an irritation .
