FDX HKG pilots fired

An LOA/CBA-extension that lacks value to the potential expat and now this. Think CGN will be any different? Think again. The reasons not to bid FDA are stacking up sky high.

I agree. The FDA/LOA sucks, but OUR union AGREED to it! All we can do is hope for the best.

on another note, five guys were fired for STEALING. They were offered opportunities to fess up, and they rolled the dice and lost. Personally, if they in fact DID take the allowance without following the terms of the LOA, and thought they could get away with it, and subsequently were terminated......oh well.

Hey is that you I saw in George Zimmerman lynch mob? There are at least 2 sides to this story. We have heard one. I'll wait till I pass judgement. But it sounds like you have a future in contract enforcement. You know the company is always right.

Not passing judgement until we have heard both sides of the story is a good idea I believe. That being said FedEx pilots have been known for doing some pretty stupid and greedy things like claiming taxi and limo rides when not using them to just make a few extra bucks. Let's hope this is not another chapter in the book on "how to screw up a career by being stupid".

What about the company STEALING from us on 4A2B? You can't possibly believe an email from a company stooge is a fair an unbiased viewpoint?? That email was probably vetted from several departments to show no wrongdoing in investigation methods, interpretation of the contract, ect... on the company's part. These unfortunate people were railroaded from both ends and I am confident that they will be back online or financially rewarded when and if they obtain a REAL labor lawyer and get this thing handled.

But I am afraid if 'Bubba' reads a letter from the Chief a**clown 'Bubba' will believe it.

I agree with your premise, FF, but stealing from the company to get back of them shows exceptionally poor judgement. Of course, the issue here is not if they did it to get back at anyone, but rather what did they do and exactly where in the contract or FDA agreement are the precise rules specified?

As another post here already mentioned, we have heard one side of a two sided story. The company contends that they knowingly failed to abide by the terms of the contract/FDA. They were right not to publish precise details on each case, but they could have made it clearer regarding the area or areas that were not met.

My understanding is that the company is reading between the lines and using interpretations rather than written language. Bad on them.

I'm not sure that we will ever know the pilot's side(s) of the issue, however, so we can't use this forum to make judgements.

Obviously I was not implieing to get back st the company for 4A2B, I was simply stating fact that the pilot aren't the only ones 'STEALING' from the company. The company screws us out of money on a continual basis, see extra duty, cargo, landing, and all the other pay logs required to get pay due to the pilot that is easy for them to track and pay without all the extra work for us to get it. It is a calculated hurdle many airlines use to short due pay.

Yes we are only getting one side of the story, the sad part is that the union is not giving full disclosure of their role in this. They are spinning it now to sound like they have been fighting for these 5 people. Simple answer... They haven't!! We won't get too many details due to confidentiality rules, I would suggest that you contact someone who was in Subic or has dealings with those in HKG. They are out there, not everyone who was in Subic went to HKG, and most keep in touch with their ex-base mates.

Flex... I think your avatar pic is spot on! Maybe these guys should be shot just on the suspicion they did something wrong...?

I usually side with the pilots until they are PROVEN guilty...but that's just me....

flextodaline 03-28-2012 07:34 AM

OK, I opened a can of worms, but here's my take. 99.9999% of our guys have the integrity to do the right thing. There is a very small percentage of people that think they can get away with something, whether it be to benefit themselves, or in their eyes, screw the company. When these individuals think they can get away with something and that they are smarter then everyone else, they eventually get caught.....it's the law of averages. Even though the company watchdog (LK) is nowhere in sight, there are still folks that monitor this kind of thing......it's the way big business operates. These individuals, by performing these less than honest dealings, eventually make it harder for the 99.999% of the pilots doing it right. This is what hacks me off.

True, we are only hearing one side of the story, and I'm by no means a purple kool-aid drinker, but when part of our group tries to be slick, and the company has to spend time and effort on this crap instead of working towards making the company better, then we all suffer.

Three years to go ................. Then out of this cesspol mess we find ourselves in. Nothing different here, look around you guys, one fact is undisputable ............. There are many amongst us who love the $$$$$$$
