How many victories did the FDX MEC win?
4a2b
LOA
Cargo cutout
380/757/777 pay rates
age 65
there are more

any?

So if you want to quit the union or are a non member your a freeloader? What are the dues payers getting?

Remember not disagree with the neo-fascist SS you'll get purged like the gang of three. Reminds me of RED CHINA another captive audience.

When you wake up and read that sober you're going to be very upset with yourself for writing it.

skeebo2 05-11-2012 08:19 AM

Ok like Winston Churchill said, I paraphrase: " Madame I am indeed drunk. But in the morning I will awake sober. However when you wake you will still be ugly."

Score still Alpa zero

I have no idea what point you are trying to make

I agree with MD11Phlyr.

Sleep tight and we can pick this up tomorrow.

flextodaline 05-11-2012 08:46 AM

It may not be the greatest, and we have some issues that definitely need addressing. I often see problems presented, but rarely a solution.....

So, what's YOUR solution? How a bout stepping up and addressing your block rep/LEC/MEC? How about running for a position and let your feelings be known? If you p!ss off somebody, what are they gonna do, shave your head and send you to the line???

GET ACTIVE!! GET INVOLVED!!, and kwitchyerbellyachin'!!!! WE can fix this, but only collectively. If we disintegrate, we have nothing.

skeebo2 05-11-2012 09:24 AM

"I have no idea what point you are trying to make

My point our Union has not won a single arbitration. So we are no better off with them or without. They collect our $ with no positive results

Also tired of step up and volunteer issue. How do you know I am not now or have ever been a union worker? How do you know that I don't spend all my free time caring for cancer patients?

Just like a union thug if we dont agree say shut up 'and quit your *****ing"
Keep attacking me and not my debate

score still ALPA 0.

I'll take the easy one.

Union = 7% B-Plan.

Non-union = 0% B-plan.

So, you can think of it as about a 350% gross return on your dues investment. And, the non-members can think the same about their agency shop fees.

Not only that: Union= A Plan still in existence.

Not sure who p!ssed in your Wheaties, but here's the deal. The old adage, "if your not part of the solution......."

So, I'll ask again. What's YOUR solution? I hear you complaining, but I don't hear your answer to the problem. Quit the union? Yeah, that'll help.

No that was the Japanese and the Koreans, the Commies are stealing jobs from them.

A lot of us have already "spoken to your REP" and "write your Rep" only to hear DT say in his perfect Cockney, "Mgmt can do that" over and over and over again. And the rep will tell you, well it's in the contract, go read the contract. Skeebo speaks the truth.

And that would be better or different without a contract how?

If you want to quit the union, I'd suggest that you just go ahead and quit. I'm sure you really don't need this stinkin' job anyway. As for being a non-member, again, feel free. No one will think you a freeloader, because by contract, you still have to pay your maintenance fee. Now, as for what the dues payers are getting, I'd suggest that among benefits such as the "B" fund, and a top of the line pay scale, the vast majority of us are getting protection. Protection from being fired for absolutely no reason, or perhaps a reason like: "you've got blue eyes and we have decided we don't want blue eyed pilots working here"; or "sorry, but you missed check-in by 2 minutes, and we can't have that, so you're fired." Stuff like that. In Tennessee, they can fire you for whatever reason they want. In fact, they don't even have to tell you why you were fired. Once unionized, the employee has a much enhanced protection system, not just within the contract, but within both federal as well as state laws.

But again, if the union has treated you that badly, I'd suggest you resign. That will surely show them. Of course, you could buck tradition and attempt to work within the confines of the union, for the betterment of the group, but I know that would be asking too much. Especially when it's so much easier to sling mud, while bitc*!ng and moaning.

JJ

Since you are so smart why don't you ask any other employee at FedEx how their pension is? Ask them how great that cash balance plan is compared to what they used to have before the company took it.

How about, "How many pilots, members or not, have lost their jobs after the final appeal process, for anything other than gross financial misconduct or drug use?"

And while I may be ugly in the morning, at least I'm not a total Richard Cranium.

After reading all the post on this thread and the one from TennStateLaw on getting rid of agency shop.......We need an ALPA board for one reason and one reason only....so that people have to put their real names on their posts. We had one at the last couple airlines I flew at and the whole "can't because of liability" argument doesn't fly.

Everyone benefits from the RLA CBA at any airline. All contracts have warts but the alternative....look at the wages and working conditions at non union airlines, they suck during good economic times and really suck worse when the economy tanks.

We need a FedEx ALPA pilot board inside the ALPA website. It would be great for the free exchange of opposing views and let everyone let THEIR views be known. But what do I know, I am only a second year guy..........here.

Been there, done that. FDX ALPA has a forum...Nobody uses it, because they have to use their real names.

Not true. We got the two dip****s that forgot to step on the brakes in Manila their jobs back, along with a full sick bank which both then used up attempting to requal. Neither did.
