Support the HK 4!
From the HK google forums for Fedex Pilots:
These people are HOSTAGES! Pure and Simple! My Fellow FedEx pilots. At the last council 14 meeting we put forth a resolution to the MEC that was two fold, first we were asking the MEC to fix the FDA issues with the company and work to provide clear language for all FDA pilots. We also asked that a fund be established to help support the terminated pilots. To do this we asked that all FedEx pilots be charged a $1 USD assessment per month per terminated pilot. We were essentially asking every FedEx pilot to give $4.00 a month. We understood that it might not be popular but we firmly believe these pilots have been wrongfully terminated and we want to show our support for our fellow pilots, the resolution was never voted on by the MEC. So the time has come to take action on a voluntary contribution fund that we decided to implement at our last council meeting if nothing came of the resolution. F/O Ken Dubinsky has agreed to administer the program with oversight provided by F/O Todd Hudgins. This program is strictly voluntary in nature and is by no means limited to Hong Kong domiciled pilots for participation purposes. The goal of this program is to express our support for our four fellow pilots who have had their livelihood taken away. To assist our four fellow Aviators with ANY expenses that they might need help with we have established a PayPal account to allow for the acceptance of voluntary contributions. NO CASH DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Anyone may contribute as much and as often as they see fit. This account will be kept open until the arbitration process is completed. Once a month our terminated colleagues will be notified via e-mail as to the dollar amount available to them. The funds will then be distributed to them. Should any of the intended recipients not wish to participate in this program they may indicate so to either of the fund administrators. If anyone chooses this option their share of the proceeds shall be divided equally among the remaining recipients. If no individual needs the funds that month the money will roll into the next month. If two months pass and no money is used by the people the account is being set up to help, the account will stop accepting donations and any money in the account will be donated to a charity or relief fund to be voted upon by the Hong Kong FedEx pilots and anyone else who contributed. This will be done via an email to all those who donated. Sorry you only get one vote no matter how many times you donate. For Instructions on how to donate please see the paragraph below detailing the process. Please remember that these donations are non-refundable and, at this time, are not tax deductible. You can do a one time donation or a recurring donation, or whatever you feel is appropriate. Donations should be made to the following PayPal account. [email protected] Once you are established and ready to donate there is a tab that asks if its for goods and services, or personal, please choose personal and gift as I believe this waives the PayPal fee if paying from another PayPal account. For those of you that have never used PayPal or have questions, please visit www.paypal.com. In the middle of the page is a title that says send money, below that title is a link that says learn more, click the link and follow the instructions. There is a video as well as written questions and answers. I believe you will have to create an account to send money if you don't already have one. If you have any questions you can email [email protected] and one of the fund administrators will answer you. Our fellow pilots are fighting this battle and we need to support them. Thanks for your support and consideration. In Unity [email protected] Ken Dubinsky Administrator Todd Hudgins Oversight |
So are you saying that pilots 1 thru 3 have their families living with them in HKG? We've heard from pilot 4, but we haven't heard anyone dispute what JB posted about the other three. What's the rest of the story?

Done, thanks guys for starting this!!

Done. Excellent idea, and one that should be supported by all the pilots, without exception. For the price of a round of drinks, or an outing to the cinema, we can show our support for these pilots, and our displeasure with the way these they were treated, and by extension, by the way the crew force in general is regarded. It will be of little consequence for any of us to drop 20 or 40 bucks into the Paypal account, but it will mean the world to the families of those who are going through a very difficult time.

Well done Ken and Todd! Money inbound.

Seriously dude? Get off your wallet and pay. Our pilot 4 has taken it upon herself to fire up and if the other three don't want to or feel as though it is their private fight to wage, that's their right. Wildmanny :( |

Pilots 1-3 may have been advised that it is not to their advantage to open their lives to every Tom, Dick and Harry that is curious. Let's just suffice it to say that the circumstances outlined in the FDX email, as compared to Pilot 4's public statement are light years apart. In the absence of a public laundering of their personal circumstances and defense pleadings, I don't think that it is a stretch that Pilot's 1-3 didn't have some elements of ridiculousness present in their terminations as well. I wish all 4 the best of luck and look down on FDX management's purported "high road" and "fair" evaluation and handling of that pilot's case as a minimum. In my heart of hearts, I also think that Pilots 1-3 were subjected to the same lame, self serving interpretation, perhaps on different data. If you like Kool-Aid, FDX management has a plethora of mixes available to drink. |
As I noted in another thread.... with the AVA in HKG for both seats, it is to be expected that some of those uncovered pairings will show up as double deadhead MEM pairings.
The challenge is also to the MEM Airbus crowd to similarly support the HK4 by refusing to pick up these pairings. |

Done. Since the MEC can't even be bothered to put an assessment to a vote, I guess we'll have to take care of it ourselves.
